On December 29, 2022, Congress passed the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment (MOUD) and Medication Access and Training Expansion (MOUDE) Acts to:

  1. expand access to Buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorder, and
  2. normalize and enhance substance use care across healthcare settings.

These new mandates will help to expand the use of Buprenorphine in different settings. The Maryland Addiction Consultation website has been updated with a page dedicated to the MOUDE/MOUD acts.–MOUDE-Acts/
